Terms of Service

Effective date: June 19, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of D5 spam guard bot (the “Bot”). By installing, configuring, or using the Bot, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

The Bot is an automated Discord moderation tool. It uses OCR to scan supported images for configured withdrawal and successful-status keywords. When a match is detected, it may delete the message, apply a timeout to the user who posted or forwarded it, and send a report to a moderation channel.

Discord permissions and role hierarchy determine which actions the Bot can complete. The Bot does not implement ban or kick operations.

2. Eligibility and authority

You may install or configure the Bot only if you are permitted to do so for the relevant Discord server. You are responsible for complying with Discord’s Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Developer Terms, and all laws applicable to your use.

3. Server administrator responsibilities

Server owners and administrators are responsible for:

4. Automated decisions and accuracy

OCR and keyword matching are imperfect. The Bot may fail to identify prohibited content, misread an image, or act on legitimate content. The Bot is an assistance tool and is not a substitute for human moderation.

Server administrators should monitor the Bot’s operation and use Discord’s moderation controls to reverse or adjust actions when appropriate.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use the Bot to:

6. Availability and changes

The Bot may be changed, suspended, rate-limited, or discontinued at any time. Features may stop working because of Discord API changes, hosting failures, third-party outages, permissions, or other technical conditions.

7. Open-source software

The source code is available under the MIT License. These Terms govern use of the hosted Bot service; the license in the repository governs copying, modifying, and distributing the source code.

Third parties who deploy or modify the source code operate their own instances. They are responsible for those instances, their users, their data practices, and their legal terms.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Bot is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or accuracy.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Bot’s authors, maintainers, and operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, revenue, reputation, access, or opportunities arising from use of or inability to use the Bot.

10. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Bot’s authors, maintainers, and operators from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Bot, your Discord server configuration, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Bot at any time by removing it from the Discord server. Access may be suspended or terminated for misuse, security risk, legal requirements, or violation of these Terms.

12. Governing terms and severability

Mandatory laws applicable to the Bot operator and user remain in effect. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

13. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated as the Bot or applicable requirements change. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by law.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be submitted through the GitHub repository’s issue tracker. Do not post Discord tokens, private keys, confidential messages, or sensitive personal information in a public issue.

This document is a general template for the project and is not legal advice. The person or organization operating the Bot should review it for the laws and deployment practices that apply to them.
